A responsible network created to protect the dignity of the Qur’an.
QP Network is a community-based preservation system for safely collecting, inspecting, preserving and returning usable Mushafs to beneficial use, so that worn or damaged copies do not enter ordinary waste streams.
There are established ways to obtain new Qur’ans. There should also be a clear way to hand over worn or unusable copies safely.
Homes, masjids, madrasas and institutions can accumulate old, torn, water-damaged or unused Mushafs. The absence of a clear handover route can lead to confusion and accidental mixing with ordinary paper or waste.
Every received Mushaf should first be assessed for continued use. Recoverable copies may be repaired, usable surplus copies may be redistributed, and only irrecoverable material should move to an authorised final-handling review.
Preserve as much as possible first — final handling only when no longer usable
Every Mushaf received by QP Network is first assessed for usability. Copies that remain usable stay in use; those that can be recovered through minor repair are restored.
Redistribution is also a key part of QP Network: surplus Mushafs in good condition are made available to individuals, Masjids, Madrasas and institutions that genuinely need them.
Only copies that cannot reasonably be reused or restored move, after approved assessment, to respectful final handling in accordance with Shariah guidance.
From collection to final handling, you can now connect through the QPN system.
Collection: Mushafs are received through approved Collection Points, volunteers and collection vehicles, including doorstep collection where available.
Inspection & Classification: Each Mushaf is assessed and classified as usable, repairable, suitable for redistribution, or no longer fit for future use.
Repair & Restoration: Copies with repairable issues such as cover damage, binding problems or minor page damage are restored and returned to usable condition.
Redistribution: Surplus Mushafs in good condition are provided to individuals and institutions that need them.
Final Handling: Copies confirmed to be completely unusable are handled respectfully in accordance with approved Shariah guidance.
Qur’an preservation is a faith-based responsibility of every Muslim.
QP Network is a broad Qur’an preservation initiative that considers Mushafs as well as books and materials containing Qur’anic verses. To make this possible, it connects families, Masjids, Madrasas, Islamic institutions, scholars, volunteers, community organisations and supporters through a coordinated network.
Through accessible Collection Points, local volunteers and district-level coordination, the aim is to preserve Mushafs safely and keep them from entering ordinary waste streams.
For critical Qur’an-related decisions, QP Network follows approved Shariah guidance rather than personal opinion.
A core policy of QP Network is to apply clear Shariah guidance to inspection, classification, restoration, redistribution and the final handling of unusable Mushafs.
Clear operating procedures, trained volunteers, approved handling methods and periodic review are intended to protect both reliability and respect throughout the process.
Collected Mushafs are handled responsibly through every stage, up to and including approved final handling.
Structured records are maintained for collection, repair and restoration, redistribution, items classified as unusable, the collection network and operating processes.
The programme is designed to expand operational coverage, extend QPN services region by region, and use digital systems to support timely and coordinated operations.
“From collection to preservation — a coordinated network connecting every region.”
QP Network aims to develop, in phases, an integrated Qur’an preservation system comprising collection points, doorstep collection support, a volunteer network, district-level coordination, repair and restoration support, redistribution, digital tracking and transparency reporting.
The operational model developed in Kerala can later be expanded to other states as required.
Help ensure that no Mushaf becomes ordinary waste through neglect.
Hand over unused, worn or damaged Mushafs through verified channels, support awareness, volunteer, or help your institution become part of the preservation network.
