Research & Capacity Planning

The reality in our communities is that thousands of Mushafs become unusable every year. Hundreds of thousands of Qur’ans have remained in our homes for years, untouched, gathering dust and suffering damage. Over time, there is a serious risk that such copies reach fireworks-manufacturing units, packing-paper companies or other disrespectful channels. On this basis, QP Network follows a Research Framework to plan the capacity required for collection, storage, transport, restoration and respectful final handling.

Millions of Qur’ans in our homes remain untouched for long periods, gathering dust and becoming damaged. Over time, some can enter disrespectful channels such as fireworks factories, packing-paper production and other improper uses. In response, the QP Network Research Framework plans the capacity needed for collection, storage, transport, restoration and final disposition.

Core Research Modules

Normal annual collection and historical disaster backlog should be studied separately.

01

Qur’an Useful-Life & Annual Collection Capacity

An editable planning model for estimating how many Mushafs may reach QP Network each year from households, Masjids, Madrasas and institutions. The default output remains zero until verified inputs are entered.

02

Historical Flood / Disaster-Affected Qur’an Recovery

A recovery framework for identifying and safely handling Qur’ans that may have been damaged in floods and other disasters in Kerala and Tamil Nadu over roughly the last two and a half decades, but may not have been documented or properly cared for.

Core Principles of This Research

A sound method is more important than publishing large numbers.

Verified data onlyWe prioritise officially verified information from field surveys, institutional data, previous collection records and QR/batch records.
District-based planningBeyond statewide totals, we use detailed planning by district, area and source type.
Condition-based flowNot every collected Mushaf proceeds to final disposition. Depending on its condition, reuse, repair and restoration are given first priority.
Periodic revisionAs preliminary information becomes available, we update storage, routes and staffing capacity as needed.
One planning equation

Normal annual flow + historical backlog clearance + surge reserve.

Normal Annual Collectionis the number of copies that typically become unusable or are handed over each year.

Historical Disaster Backlogis the separate recovery load of copies damaged in earlier floods or disasters but identified only now.

Operational design capacity should combine both, then add a safety reserve for awareness campaigns, seasonal drives and institutional bulk handovers.

Evidence-Based Data Collection

We continuously update our data based on local information and surveys.

QP Network gathers information through state-level surveys. We continually update our data and maintain transparency using actual information from pilot projects, public participation, figures provided by Masjids and Madrasas, and district-level records.

Next Step

Connect the research model to live operational data.

As the Collection Point Finder, Vehicle Schedule, Pickup Requests, QR Batch, Classification, Restoration and Final Approval systems become operational, assumptions on these research pages can be replaced with actual QPN data.
